Acrylic on Board, 11 x 14 inches. I covered the board surface with two layers of Master’s Touch acrylic gesso. Using a reference photo of volcanoes that I downloaded from pixabay.com, I made a drawing on the gessoed board. I then blocked in the sky, mountains, and foreground using the complementary of the colors seen in the image from Pixabay. The final blue sky was first blocked in using orange; the dark blue of the volcanoes was painted yellow-orange, and so forth into the foreground.
