Acrylic on canvas, 9 by 12 inches.
Since May, children have been separated from their parents upon reaching the US Border with Mexico. Even though these people are purposely seeking Border Authorities to apply for asylum, the children are pulled from their parents, and then sent to one of more than 70 facilities around the United States. The parents are held in separate facilities. More than 2500 children are in this situation, and only about 400 have been reunited with their parents.
The children in this painting are being marched into a facility by an US government official. The children will be held at this facility. In the meantime, they suffer from psychological effects of not know where their parents are, and not knowing what their fate will be. There are 16 children in this painting.
