Acrylic on canvas, 9 x 12 inches. The inspiration for this painting is the Marburger Farm Antiques Show in Round Top, TX that takes place each Spring and Fall for five days. We’ve been doing antique shows in Round Top since 2004. Marburger Farm is the site for a very large antiques show featuring more than 350 dealers that come from around the United States as well some other countries. The farm has more than a dozen buildings, and for the show, the promoters set up about 9 very large tents. We set up in Tent B.
On the property is a small pond that I’ve observed for years. I took a dozen or so photos of the pond, and used these as the source for the painting.
This is the first version of the pond. I decided on some paintings to do a second painting soon after completing the first. Many artists insist this is a good idea for improving your painting style/ability. I’ll put the second painting up on the website as soon as its completed.
